Here’s How to Turn on Heated Mirrors: Ford F-150

Some Ford models have a dedicated heated mirror button, and others don’t.  If you are reading this article, the odds are that your Ford F-150 doesn’t have a dedicated button to heat the mirrors.

How to Tell if Your F-150 Has Heated Mirrors

  • Look at the side mirror; if you see the heated defrost symbol, your F-150 has the option.  Push the rear defrost or dedicated button to heat the mirrors.  
  • Some models have the BLIS system or power folding mirrors. They won’t have the symbol on them at all.

How to Turn An F-150’s Heated Mirrors:

  • Hit the rear defrost, and the ice will melt off the mirrors quickly.
  • On newer models, hit the heated mirror button.  If you don’t see the button, hit the rear defrost.
  • Some F-150s will automatically heat the mirrors during the auto-start sequence.

Conclusion

Only in the last few years has the F150 had its own dedicated button to defrost the mirrors.  Before that, you would have to activate them by pushing the rear defrost button.
